Tournament Rules

  • Teams are to report to rink NO LATER than 30 minutes prior to game start time
  • Teams will be required to turn in a set of keys or a driver’s license to the rink office between Rinks 1 & 2 to receive a locker room key. Please keep locker rooms clean for the next teams.
  • Home teams will wear LIGHT and away teams will wear DARK jerseys
  • CHF rules will be followed.  Any DQ’s must be served as outlined in the CHF Rules
  • Scoresheets will be provided and need to be completed by each team (Women – Rink 1, Men’s - Between Rinks 3 & 4) and a scorekeeper will be provided for each game.
  • There will be a 5-minute warm-up prior to each game. Each team will supply their own warm up pucks. The HOME TEAM will provide game pucks for the officials
  • Games will consist of 3-20 minute periods, with ONE ice cut in-between the 2nd & 3rd periods. 
    • Overtime - ECSD & Women’s Division – NONE
    • Empire Division ONLY – There will be a 5 minute 3v3 OT, if the ice slot permits it (No Shootout).
    • If a team is down by 6 or more goals in the 3rd period, running time will commence. If the gap is closed to three goals, stop time will resume. (Running clock will not apply during penalties).
  • After each game the scorekeeper will give the scoresheets to the DVCHC Director of Hockey Operations (Bruce Kocenski – Rink 3&4), DVCHC Women's Commissioner (Taylor Hadley-Rink 1), or a DVCHC Board Member with an ID Badge.:
    • White copy to the tournament director
    • Yellow copy to the home team
    • Pink copy to the visiting team
    • The HOME team is responsible for inputting games into GAMESHEETS & DVCHC Website
  • The DVCHC Board of Directors reserve the right to take measures necessary to ensure a safe tournament for the participants including the conduct of players and fans, and the modification of any rule(s) herein which is deemed by him/her to be in the tournament’s best interest. Decisions of the DVCHC Board of Directors will be FINAL.
